My Favorite Vacuum & August Instagram Roundup

 Where are my fellow clean freaks at? I love a clean an organized house and since my two balls of fluff are in the middle of their shedding season, that means I've been having to vacuum nonstop to keep up with their mess. I got a new vacuum last August that I had meant to share a long time ago, but I guess now is as good a time as any.

Since I use it everyday and often several times a day, I needed a lightweight option that did a good job at picking up fur and litter. I had previously tried a popular and pricey option, but I never felt like it picked up all the fur and would find myself going over the same spot time and time again. 

Last August, Bissell released its new ICONpet vacuum and I got it immediately. This is a cordless and bagless stick vacuum designed specifically for picking up pet fur. I feel like some fur, especially with my long haired cat, Porky, is so light that the suction in most vacuums either doesn't pick it up or the suction is so strong that is causes it to fly all over the place. I don't have that problem anymore since switching over to the Bissell. The brush roll gathers the fur together before using the suction to pull it into the vacuum. No more floating fur or stragglers left behind!

The battery life is average for a cordless vacuum. I can use it for about 20 minutes on the second setting before the battery starts to run out. It also comes with a few attachments for harder to reach areas and a wall mount for hanging and charging. There are three settings for the suction levels and lights on the base so you can see right where you are vacuuming. I used it on both carpet and hardwood flooring and it is excellent on both. I've been using it for a solid year, and like I said before, I usually use it daily or several times a day so I'd say I am very familiar with the ins and outs of it. I highly recommend it for pet owners and think it is worth every penny. I think Amazon has the best prices for it so I will link it below

This fun leopard cami is a steal! I wore it to run errands and get ready for my moms birthday tea party. It's true to size and I'm wearing a small.

Another super cute leopard top I wore this month was this smocked number. It comes in several colors and has gotten me so many compliments. I am wearing my regular size small.

This pullover is always sold out in this color, but I also found some t-shirt versions available. My makeup bag is available in this brown color and is also available in the white checker pattern.

I wore this gorgeous top with crochet detailing to my moms birthday tea party and paired it with a fascinator in a similar color. My sister and I had so much fun planning an authentic English High Tea and I ordered fascinators and big hats for all us girls. Amazon has a huge selection of budget friendly options.

I've had these pajamas for over a year now and still find myself reaching for them regularly. They are light and airy so they are perfect for these warmer months.

August Amazon Try Ons

I can't believe it's over halfway through August already! This year is flying by! I'm here with another Amazon Try-on & can't wait to share these! 

This pajama set was constantly popping up on my Amazon recommended products, but it barely became available on Prime. It comes in a bunch of different color combos including this pink & blue one. I ordered my regular size small, but I wish I had sized up for a more oversized fit. The top is a henley style & the fabric is cool & light. 

This oversized tie dye pajama set is so cozy & perfect. I ordered the small and I love the way it fits. It has pockets too!

This tie dye top is so cute! It is a thicker t-shirt material so it isn't too warm, but it was perfect for the beach earlier this month. It comes in several different color combos as well. This is a size small.

These tie dye joggers are perfect! They are lightweight and so fun! I ordered my regular size small and they fit perfect. These come in several different prints and I just ordered two more. Oh, and pockets!

I accidentally ordered a medium in this tie dye jogger set and I'm clearly swimming in it, but how fun is it?! I wanted to take this to the beach with me, but clearly I didn't check the size chart. Order your regular size!

These wide leg pants are a favorite! They are so fun & lightweight & not see through. Triple score!

I got my regular size small so I'd say they run true to size.

This floral top is gorgeous!! The bodice area is lined, but the stomach area is not, so just be aware. It is a thicker chiffon like material and is so nice and breezy. It is also available in black. I ordered my regular size.

This knit top is so versatile! I can see myself pairing it with a skirt & blazer or leggings. It is pretty sheer so I layered it over a cami & knotted it in this picture. It is TTS and I'm wearing a small.

What I wore on Vacation | California Coast

We just got back from our little vacation on the coast and I feel so rejuventated. THat was exactly what I needed! Ronnie surprised me with the  best of both worlds with our Airbnb rental that was the perfect blend of beach & mountains for my nature loving heart. We had the ocean view at the front of the house, which was a huge and gorgeous Victorian by the way ( cue my architecture love geek out) and the mountains in the back. We had a family of deer in the backyard almost everyday and spent the majority of out time on the back deck/ tree house situation which was heaven!

If you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen my stories before we left when I was trying to pack with little direction. The location of our trip was a surprise so the only clue Ronnie would give me was "beachy location" and "deer" which was hardly any direction at all. I packed a bunch of cozy outfits since I knew we would be spending most of our time at our rental and a few swimsuits, but like I said, we spent most of our time under a blanket up on the deck and barbecuing. Here's a few things I wore:

This Kimono is GORGEOUS! I love the floral details so much. This tube top was a steal at Target and is perfect for pairing with a button up or kimono.

 

This skirt is one of my favorite Amazon buys ever. It is tiered and has this cute slit on the side that is such a cute detail on its own. I'm wearing a small. I paired it with this crop top, denim jacket and straw bag & hat.

There was a trail on the cliffs above the beach that is now one of favorite places ever so we took a few walks up there. This leopard sports bra is part of a set that comes with the matching leggings. It is so cute paired together or worn separately like I did here. I paired it with some of my favorite leggings and a zip up that I wore around my waist.

I got this jumpsuit last summer and have since worn it SO many times. It continues to be a favorite and is perfect for a simple, casual beach look. This is true to size.

I lived in cozy looks like this while we were there. These Tie Dye Joggers are so cute & comfortable. I paired it with a cropped long sleeve top. These are true to size. I also love these slippers and leopard blanket.

I love this lace button up top so much! It's perfect to wear over a swimsuit! Just add some cutoffs and you can head to town. TTS, I'm wearing a small. 

This high waisted swimsuit set is so flattering & comes in a few different color combos. I sized up to a medium.

This leopard one piece is SO cute! It hides a food baby well, but is a little bit cheeky. I ordered my regular size.

Organizing my Closet and Reveal

I find organizing to be so relaxing, any one else? The process just does wonders for my soul. To put order to something that can otherwise be chaotic is therapeutic beyond words. So it probably seems fitting that during these stressful past couple of months I’ve been organizing everything from the pantry to my razor blades. Plus, life just flows better when you’re not having to waste time trying to find something. A place for everything, and everything in its place. Moisturizer with moisturizer and cereal next to cereal. Ahhhhhh, calm breaths. Ok, I’m starting to sound a little crazy here, but you get my point.

Recently I organized my closet and switched out any organizers that weren’t serving me well with some better options and I have to say that everything just WORKS perfectly now! I placed a giant order from The Container Store and apparently so did everybody else so it took an absolutely ridiculous amount of time to receive my order. I did end up ordering some organizers from Amazon to tide me over and they ended up working really well for the space. 

These drawer organizers come in this set of 6 and they fit PERFECTLY in this drawer that I keep overflow & new skincare products in. It’s like they were made for this drawer. I used some leftover wallpaper to line the drawer and some cupboards so I had to do some piecing together, but I love how it turned out!

This organizer is advertised as a desk organizer, but it’s the perfect size to hold sunglasses.

I love this acrylic headband holder that I also have holding some belts. The top opens up so you can also use it to store hair ties and bobby pins.

I have two different sizes of two different acrylic drawers. This one is sold as a single drawer and is stackable so I used two for this space. It is excellent quality and holds so much because of how deep they are. 

This acrylic drawer is sold as a set of two. It is not as deep as the previous one and the drawers don’t really have a way of attaching to the shell so they kind of just sit freely which isn’t my favorite, but it works out well to hold smaller beauty items.

I use a lazy susan to hold all my overflow of vitamins in this short space. It makes it easy to spin around and grab the one I need . I love using lazy susans in cupboards that don’t have a lot of room. They make searching for bottles so easy!

Overflow and new makeup products go in this makeup organizer. The drawers are very small, but it’s perfect for this space and holds lip and brow products perfectly.

I love these jewelry organizers so much. These came as a set of three and have so many compartments to keep all your jewelry separate and tango free. They are lined in a soft velvety fabric that also won’t scratch your jewelry. I also have this over the door jewelry organizer that I love
